Ancient Egyptian culture in the light of 'talking objects'

Numer:
65

During the course of this lecture, the audience will have the opportunity to interact with copies of different objects from ancient Egypt.

The goal of this lecture is to introduce people to the concepts of ‘talking objects’ from ancient Egypt, that is the idea that all archaeological finds ‘speak for themselves’ if one lets them. The notion of how they could possibly ‘speak’ to ancient Egyptians will also be demonstrated through explaining the ancient settings of the objects.

Special attention will be paid to the material the objects are made out of, as these give a great detail of information about the intentions of Egyptians about the purpose of the objects.
